ABOUT
The Creek
Veteran-Owned. Locally Owned. Real Colorado Cooking.
John Freeman grew up right here in Cripple Creek. He and his wife Miki, both U.S. Army veterans, came home to the mountains and opened The Creek in 2021. We’re veteran-owned, locally owned, and the original standalone restaurant and bar on Bennett Avenue, set in a restored 1896 brick building at 9,494 feet.
The menu is real Colorado cooking: Colorado wild game like elk, bison and jackalope sausage, house-made Red Elk Chili and Pork Green Chili made from scratch, Angus ribeye, burgers and sandwiches. The bar pours Colorado craft beer, cocktails, wine and spirits, and upstairs Prospector’s Den opens daily at 3 PM.
No casino floor, no slot noise. Just good food and good company.
